Does Finecto+ Protect also work against feather lice and shaft lice?
Feather lice and shaft lice do not come off the animal and therefore do not come into contact with the environment. So also not with Finecto+ Protect. Finecto+ Oral through the feed for 14 days drives these mites and lice off the animal, after which they do come into contact with the Finecto+ Protect.

How long does Finecto+ Protect work?
The duration of action of Finecto+ Protect depends on the number of lice present. Any louse that walks over the sprayed surface will shed some of the layer. Over time, the layer has worn away. Under normal circumstances, a treatment is effective for 4-6 weeks.

What is the difference between Finecto+ Spray and Finecto+ Oral?
Finecto+ Protect spray is a means with which the young red mite is reached . The spray should be sprayed on the path that the red mite travels towards the chickens. Once an egg hatches, the larva will need blood to reproduce. The larva comes out of its hiding place at night and makes its way to the hen to suck blood. If you have sprayed a layer of Finecto+ Protect on this road, the louse will not be able to get to the chicken. Therefore spray a layer of Finecto+ Protect in the chicken coop on this road every 4 weeks. So this is from all cracks up to and including the perch.

Finecto+ Oral is a powder that is mixed with the feed, which makes the blood of chickens indigestible for the red mite, calcareous mites and feather lice. As soon as a red mite has drunk blood, it will become constipated and will not survive.

The spray acts like sandpaper for the newly hatched larvae. Those young lice over it and then tear their bellies open. Only the adult lice are bigger and thicker, so they don't tear their bellies open enough to dry out. So you will have to treat them separately, otherwise they will continue to lay eggs. You do this with the powder of Finecto+ Oral through the food. This ensures that they can no longer digest the blood and become clogged. So after sucking blood once, they die. So do you have red mites? Then use the combination of both products to get the problem under control as quickly as possible.
