Anti-megabacteria (500 ml)

Although the name Megabacteria suggests that it is a bacterial infection, this is not the case, but it is a yeast infection. Scientifically, the megabacterium is known as Macrorhabdus ornithogaster or 'Avian gastric yeast'.

Macrorhabdus ornithogaster or megabacteria can be found in a wide variety of birds, but are mainly found in smaller passerines and parrots (budgerigars, cockatiels, lovebirds).

 

Signs: 
Macrorhabdus ornithogaster lives in the glandular stomach of the bird, and can cause a stomach infection there. Clinical signs are therefore mainly the result of problems that occur in the gastrointestinal tract, which can manifest themselves as:

• Diarrhea, black stools and/or presence of undigested seeds in stool
• Regurgitate (give up) food
• Delayed crop clearance
• Weight loss and weight loss
